2-4 players
15 minutes.
Contents: 54 cards: 4 x 6 = 24 castle cards, 20 diamond cards, 7 witch cards, 3 fairy cards.
Whether with risk or cleverness, each player pursues her own strategy when building her castle - until the witches strike.
Goal of the game:
Be the first to complete the castle in your own color.
Game preparation:
The cards are placed face down in the middle of the table.
Gameplay:
The game is played clockwise. The youngest player draws a card and shows it to the other players. During the entire game, players must draw at least one card. Then they can decide for themselves whether to draw or skip.
If a card is drawn, there are 4 options:
- The player draws a castle card:
If the player has not yet built a castle, she places the card in front of her and uses it to determine the color of her castle. (Unless another player already has that color.) During the next rounds, she can use all castle cards of that color to complete her castle.
She places castle cards in other colors to her right. (These cards can be laid out or sold later in the game.)
After the player draws a castle card, she can draw additional cards.
- The player draws a fairy card: she places it to her right and can continue drawing.
- The player draws a diamond card: she places it to her right and can continue drawing. The diamond cards allow the player to buy a castle card from an opponent to complete her own castle (with 3 diamond cards in exchange for a castle card).
Danger! - If the player wants to buy a castle card (always only 1 per round), she does not draw a card in this round.
- The opponent may not refuse to sell a castle card.
- The player draws a witch card:
- Unlucky! The player must place 3 of her cards next to the stack in the middle (diamonds, parts of other players' castles or her own castle) + the witch card. (If she has fewer than three cards, she discards all that she has)
Then it is the next player’s turn. .
- If she has a fairy card, the player can use it to ward off the witch. She places the Witch card + the Fairy card next to the deck.
Then it is the next player’s turn.
Deck of cards:
When the stack is over, one player takes the cards, shuffles them and forms a new stack.
Who wins?
The player who first manages to build a complete castle (6 cards of the same color) wins.
This is the story of a French family business dedicated to creativity, courage and passion. In the Djeco family, all honor goes to mother Veronique. She founded her small business in 1954, at a time when few women were embarking on such an adventure. The Djeco games refer to the gecko, the little lucky charm lizard, and are both beautiful and intelligent and promote knowledge. They had a lot of success and were awarded four toy Oscars in the 1960s. The family business was then almost forgotten, but was brought back to life in 1989 by their son Frederic. Djeco creates all products with artistic sensitivity, including the educational toy collection of wooden puzzles, wooden toys, cardboard puzzles, card and board games, creative games, craft sets, dollhouses, dolls, pirates, knights, baby toys and much more. Djeco ushers in a new era of gaming. We have a huge selection of Djeco games in our shops in Pilzessin in Graz and online at www.pilzessin.at - because we love Djeco and think that children simply don't play enough these days.
