Duck Dance board game from Djeco for ages 5 and up
Ages: 5-9
Number of players: 3-4
Contents: 32 cards + 4 ducks + 3 swimming rings.
Goal of the game: Get as few cards as possible.
Preparation for the game: The swimming rings are placed in the middle of the table (always one less swimming ring is placed than there are players). Each player chooses a duck and keeps it with them. The deck of 36 cards is shuffled. The dealer deals all cards.
How the game works: The youngest player starts and puts down any card (e.g.: card with a value of 5). The next player must now place a card on top of the played card whose value is exactly above or exactly below the value of the played card (in our example: card with a value of 6 or 4). If the player cannot place, the sequence is stopped. The player receives the last card played and places it in front of him. He now places a new card of his choice on the pile of cards and it is the next player's turn.
Note: For cards with a value of 8, only one card with a value of 7 can be placed. For cards with a value of 1, only one card with a value of 2 can be placed.
STOP THE MUSIC Card: When a player places a Stop the Music card on top of one or more other cards, all players must place their duck on a floating ring in the center of the table as quickly as possible. The player without a swim ring gets all the cards in the middle of the table, places them face up in front of him and plays a card of his choice.
End of game: The round ends when a player has played their last card. The winner is the player who has the fewest cards, with the collected cards and the remaining cards in their hand being added together.
